How it Works

Giving Local is essentially a curated list of all my favourite local brands. The people that I have met attending farmers markets every weekend for almost 8 years (I’ve never quite looked at it like that before, that’s a lot of weekends), the fellow small-business owners, the friends, the people I have met along the way, my personal heroes. These are all people that at some point, like me, have gone all-in on a dream and continue every day to hone their craft while running their business. I love that!

It all started, as many things seem to, with Covid. I was already delivering my products to customers pre-covid, but within a 2-week period by deliveries quadrupled. With the uncertainty I started offering a lot of these products as add-ons for my customers. It gave people a safe and convenient means of getting their favourite local products.

So, Giving Local was born, and inevitably, shortly after, I started a delivery business. The Giving Goods Delivery Co has been perfectly delivering Perth’s finest artisanal products for the last few years.

I digress slightly, this isn’t all about me, obviously. What I’m trying to say is that not only do I share with you this curated list of local products, I will also hand deliver them. I do all the leg work. Just check out the site, buy the stuff you’d like, there is even a Set&Forget feature so you don’t have to worry about running out, and I’ll deliver.

Deliveries

I like simple, and really dislike driving (I know…🤦‍♂️), so I only do deliveries on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday I head North of River, Wednesday South and Hills. That gives me 5 days to recover…

I prefer to have one massive day of driving than lots of little trips so my delivery days are pretty epic and meticulously planned. I like to knock & run, it’s quick and efficient. If you’re not going to be home, leave an appropriate chilled and insulated vessel for me to put your delivery into.

I do send out automated notifications telling you when to expect your order, roughly. Remember that things change but I’m actually pretty awesome at deliveries (That’s why they pay me the big bucks…wait…) so I generally keep to schedule.

Labour of Love

This site and store is more of a Labour of Love than anything else.

I do thoroughly enjoy being able to spread and share some of my favourite things and the magical people behind them that I’ve met on my own business journey.

I hope that you enjoy their products as much as I have or do. Although this is my website and I want to encourage you to use it to buy stuff I also encourage you to go and meet the people. You’ll easily find them at your local Farmer’s Markets on weekends, usually after a week of production, baking, roasting, picking, growing, etc.

Running a small business can be tough, but ask any of these people here and they wouldn’t change it. They love what they do, and their customers love them for it.

Order Cut-Off

Get your orders in by 5pm Friday (we do send out an email reminder on Thursday once you’ve signed up). I don’t keep stock so I literally special order everything and pick up over the weekend.
